Last night, several pastors from the Illinois district of the AFLC began a Lenten series that'll be shared in each our churches. The first message, heard last night at Grace, is titled "The Crime of the Cross." We looked at the fact that Jesus was completely innocent of any crime when he was convicted to death and that a murderer was released in his place. We also looked at the fact that each one of us are guilty and deserving of death, but Jesus, even though he was without sin, took the penalty of sin upon himself.
